The Olympics

We hope to be able to do our photo shoot at the end of this week so hopefully I can post some more pictures of our new finish then.

We have been watching the Olympics this weekend, we are especially interested as when we lived in England we spent most of our lives living near the London Olympic stadium. My sister (that still lives there) emailed to say she could see the fireworks from her house and all of the neighbors were in the street watching them! She has ticket to see some of the equestrian events and  lots of our friends have tickets, our daughter is going back for a month and is going to the men's 100 meter final, I am very jealous but I already went back in June this year for the Queens jubilee so I really have to stay here and do some work!

New Finish

We were very disappointed that we were unable to do the photo shoot this week as there was too much chance of rain. Hopefully we will be able to do it next week. We are putting new pictures on the website of the new finish as we sell out of the unfinished stock. Our full container of the new finish furniture is due in on the 9th of August so we hope to start shipping it to customers on the 15th. Just when we thought our furniture couldn't get any better we now have this, it is even more fine sanded than before and finished with a water based protector. I just keep stroking it every time I go past it.

Photo shoot next week

Hot weekend here in Florida temperatures in the 90s. Spending most of our time in the Air conditioning or in the pool, great to have a swim then dry off on one of our Teak Loungers or Steamers. Paul has spent most of the weekend working on the website. We will be taking photos next week of the new finish furniture for the website . We will post pictures of the day on the blog next week, our daughter Frances will be baking cakes for one of the shots which we are all looking forward to eating afterwards.

NEW BEAUTIFUL FINISH

We are really excited to be starting our new range of ready oiled furniture, next week we will be adding pictures of the new finish which will be arriving mid August.  Because we are now changing the finish we will be having a big sale of the remaining untreated furniture, which is still excellent furniture but if you like the golden color teak you just have to oil it. Here are some pictures of the new finish.

We had an email from Kent who was given a bench for his place on Swan's Island in Maine,

I was given a 60" Manor Teak Bench.  I was surprised that no assembly instructions were enclosed with it, nor does your uTube video seem to function.  The assembly was pretty straightforward, however, and I got the bench together, but there are two things that gave me pause.  The diameter of the dowels seemed a bit large for the holes drilled in the bench.  In fact, I noticed that one of them started a crack in the surrounding wood as I carefully tapped in the dowel with a wooden mallet.  I immediately stopped driviing the dowel, took it out and whittled it down before tapping it in and trimming it flush.  The other odd thing is that there were five screws included in the package, but I only found four predrilled holes under the seat.  Did I miss one or did you include an extra screw?  Other than that it is a very nice bench.

We have realized that we do need to include some kind of instructions with the benches and we are working on a sheet to include with the bench or to add to the website. Because we know that the dowels are often a bit too big but you just need to force them in and it doesn't matter if they split you just cut off and sand down the ends or like Kent you whittle them down a bit, they don't even need to go all the way in. We have never used the screws as we don't feel they are necessary and have no idea why we get sent 5 (maybe a spare?) One day we will ask our supplier. But thanks to Kent we realize we should add all these details to a leaflet or put the details on our website somewhere. We replied to Kent telling him this and he kindly sent us some pictures of the bench which looked lovely on his fabulous property.

Do you happen to see the aluminum type table with umbrella and chairs in the back? Eventually that set will need to be replaced (unlike our teak set), we will buy another table and chair set from Manor Teak to replace it.

Very busy day today container arrived at 8am then we had to get 20 shipments ready as a lot of the furniture had already been sold before it arrived! Some have gone with FedEx freight and some have gone with FedEx ground. We also had a meeting this afternoon with our new FedEx account manager. Our FedEx account manager arranges for all of our FedEx freight collections and does all of our paperwork, we just give him the details of what we are sending and were we are sending it, he then sends us the filled out bills of Lading to attach to the skids. Nice to be looked after.

July 4th Celebrations

Hi, As you can see we have been so busy we have not had time to post anything for a while. We have lots happening at the moment we are having a new website designed which should be up and running in a couple of months. Manor Teak Furniture Care

Spring is the traditional time that we start to think of getting the garden or patio, deck, pool etc ready for the coming good weather.

You can make a start now by cleaning your Teak Furniture, you will be amazed at what a few minutes work with a pressure washer and normal tap water can do. Your teak Furniture will be literally transformed. 

It doesn't matter what time of year you choose to clean your Manor Teak Furniture or how often, if it's been oiled or let to weather naturally the effect is the same.
